A woman and her dad have been pictured after they were stabbed to death.

Fernanda Assis, 31, and her father Joanilason Assis, 61, were found with multiple stab wounds at a property in Wood Green, North London on November 28.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but despite their best efforts, they were pronounced dead.

Achilleas Costa, of no fixed address, was charged on November 30 with two counts of murder.

The 52-year-old is in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on February 18.

Pals left tributes described Fernanda as “friendly” and “bubbly”, MyLondon reports.

Neighbours said Fernanda cared for both of her parents.

The mum reportedly lives outside of London and was not present during the tragedy.

A shopkeeper who knew the family said: “I knew her well, she was always friendly and bubbly, we’d always chat whenever she came in.

“Everyone here knew her, she would come in to shop often. I only met her father once or twice, I didn’t know him well but she would always come in.

“She had a difficult life, both her mother and father were ill….her father needed help, so she’d go between the two to care for them.”

Another woman from the area, who didn’t want to be named, said at the time: “It was a shock, I live here with my children. I didn’t know them, I think they were private people.

“I know that she looked after him, she was his daughter and he was deaf. No one knows that much, they seemed normal.”

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police said: “At 09:37hrs on Sunday, 28 November, police were called to a property in Mayes Road, N22 after concerns were raised for the welfare of the occupants.”

They added: “Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”
